01

The question

The property manager wanted to know where on the extensive roofs there were defects, dirt and standing water, without putting staff or an aerial lift on the roof.

02

Scope and conditions

Several warehouse roofs of a logistics complex, with particular attention to the transitions between roof sections and the HVAC units on the roof.

Approach

Photogrammetric capture of the complete roof complex, processed into a single scaled orthomosaic, supplemented with detail images of the critical points. Each zone of attention was given a number in the report.

04

Files delivered

  • High-resolution orthomosaic
  • Inspection report with numbered points of attention
  • Raw image data
05

Result

75minutes of flight time
for the complete roof surface, with a list of priority repairs that now forms the basis of the annual maintenance budget.

What the dataset does not show

The orthophoto and the detail images show what is visible at the surface: dirt, standing water, damaged seams and junctions. They say nothing about moisture beneath the roof covering or the condition of the insulation. That still requires a probe by the roofer or building surveyor.
