Periodic inspections and individual photos show detail, but not how it fits together. A 3D model of a building, installation or site lets an asset manager study the whole asset from his desk: look all round it, measure distances, compare zones. It is often called a "digital twin".

How the model is created

We take hundreds of overlapping high-resolution images, straight down and at an angle. Software uses them to calculate the position of every point in space. The result:

  • A point cloud for measurement and as-built documentation
  • A textured 3D model for visual inspection and discussion
  • An orthophoto and elevation model for map use and terrain analysis

What an asset manager does with it

  • Safer inspections. Nobody has to work at height or in dangerous places. The first assessment happens on screen.
  • Measuring without going back. You calculate distances, areas and volumes in the model, even months later.
  • Working together. Several parties look at the same model and refer to the same spot.
  • Comparing. Two captures at different moments show what has changed.

A 3D model rarely stands alone. We deliver the data in formats that BIM and GIS software open, in your project's coordinate system. That lets you compare the as-built condition with the design and spot deviations early.

FAQ

Do I need special software?

No. We also deliver most models through a web viewer. You view, rotate and measure in the browser.

How accurate are measurements in the model?

Under 2 cm, under conditions (RTK, ground control points, independent checkpoints, clearly visible terrain) and in suitable weather. Without those conditions the value is higher. We report the measured accuracy for each project.

Can the model also show the interior?

Drones mainly record the exterior. For interior captures we work with a specialist partner, so you get one coherent model.
